Dephemerember 2024 - Prompts and Creations

Hello everyone!

Grab your favorite drink and settle in because I've got a story to share that mixes dreams with destiny. As you probably know, I'm from the beautiful landscapes of South Africa, but now I've found myself in the peaceful heart of Switzerland. When I was a little girl, I love to watch the stories about Heidi and Peter, always wishing to experience the charm of Switzerland myself. And guess what? Dreams really do have a funny way of coming true! So, for the #Dephemerember 2024 prompt list, I'm excited to dive into the last four prompts that Barbara @49dragonflies, and Luise @LuiseHeinzl, have lined up for us. I've decided to fill my journal with colorful stories from South Africa, and Switzerland, capturing all the ups and downs.
It's going to be quite a journey!
I didn't finish my Dephemerember 2024 prompts last year due to my health issues.
I do feel a lot better and am diving into my crafts again to get my mojo back.

2 Dec 2024 - Altered Playing Card and Antique Keys
For this prompt I have created a door with the play card!
It's the key to new beginnings in a new country!

Door Open
Our first house in Switzerland.

3 Dec - Layered Tag & Retro Film Strip
For the layered tag and Retro Filmstrip,
I have created layers with photos in the "Rosegarden" in Bern.
I have used different ephemera from my stash.
04 Apothecary Label & Quirky Cat or Dog
I love this page, and the images of our little quirky Shih Tzu - Milo.
Close up
5 Dec - Snippet Roll & Woven Flowers
I have used different lace and ribbon for the woven flowers.
I have created a bellyband with the flowers.
All Weekends off
9 Dec - Journaling Card & Beloved Visitor
The embossing didn't come out too good, but I still love the journaling card.
When you open the journaling card there is a picture of my daughter and her husband visiting us in Switzerland after she got married and move to another country.
Inside  my Journaling Card a photo
of our daughter and Son-in-law visit us in Switzerland.
10 Dec - Altered Pocket & Texture Fragments
Another page that I do love. Is the altered pocket. I have cut up jeans that are too big for me now, I cut the back pocket off the jeans. I love the lavender cutouts.
Tag inside the pocket
The tag inside the pocket with a journaling card at the back.
11 Dec - Least Favorite Ephemera & Bookbinder's Art
I'm not sure what my least favorite ephemera are, but I am not a big fan of Nuvo Jewel Drops. Not that I say they are bad, but I just do not get the hang of it to stay 3D-like and fall flat.
A little tag
A little tag that goes with my page, where I can do some journaling on.
12 Dec - Bookmark & Black and White
I created this used tag. I'm still deciding if I should keep it only as a bookmark or create a flip- out page. The front of the tag is for my South Africa side, and the back side will be for the Switzerland side. I still have to create something for the backside.
Backside
I still have to add something on the backside of this tag.
I did glue some black and white fabric down.
16 Dec Tuck Spot & Cheese
Another page I just love.
I created this image on AI and created the background on my page.
The little square cheese is my tuck spot and journaling card.
I thought the cheese theme just fit in well with Switzerland.
17 Dec - Flip out Page & Old photos
I love the softness from these 2 pages. The picture is of me when I was a little girl. My mom made our little dresses. My dress was a pink dress, and my sister's dress was a blue dress.
It was also that wall at the back when I was a bit older and kissed a chameleon that had bit me on the lip. I wish there were photos of me with that scene. 😜
Psalm 23 is one of my favorite psalms.
Inside the Flip out card page
18 Dec Mini Pocket letter & Specimen
I love how this little mini pocket turned out.
I also have used a lot of my stash that we all have and think we will use someday.
19 Dec Paper Bag Handle & Slow Stitching
I have created a journaling card with this prompt. I have used the paper bag handles from a brown shopping bag. I placed the journal card in a belly band.
23 Dec - Altered Book Page & Blackout Poetry
This was a difficult one for me, but I have decided to use the story of Heidi and Peter and do the blackout poetry from the story.
24 Dec - Photo Frame & Steampunk Butterfly
I have used a card base for my photo frame. The image is one I have created, and the butterfly wings. I used some steampunk ephemera.

Prompts 25, 26, 30, and 31 will come soon!
I will also create a flip-through album video.
The album will not end with the prompts from the Dephemerember 2024. I will keep working in my journal, and will add my creations on my blog.
I have four signatures in my Journal, 2 for South Africa and 2 for Switzerland.
These are extra pages in my signatures.
This is my cover.
Cows for Switzerland
Elphants for South Africa

Milo helping me
Proteas for South Africa
Autumn time in Switzerland
I am looking forward to the Dephemerember 2025 prompts in December 2025.
